I think the powertram setups if done right are pretty slick but to me the simplicity, feel, and cost of a push pull fits me better. Im like Greenhead I want to know my exact angle at all times without looking. I have been know to get in a tight spot a time or two. I have a hard time trusting the electronics also. Ive been on a boat with a malfunctioning remote setup and spent two hours going in circles cause the dang motor wouldn't turn. For me simple is always better but that's just me

Thanks for all the info guys. I decided to go with push/pull for now since I'm new to the kicker rigs and could see how the powrtran could get me in some rough spots. Going to keep it simple for now and upgrade when I'm comfortable with the setup. After 2 years I've finally got my boat setup with a kicker!!

Tim is working on a remote control for the Powrtran steering that will have a led positioning indicator on it, that should be sweet once he get's it finished up!

We'll I bought my steering cable and it worked great the first night out. Went out again the next night and 30 min in my cable broke.:td:

What brand?

Really thinkin about a kicker setup for next year. My only question and it's pretty dumb but how do you get the motor to reverse with the powertran setup, or the push pull. Just curious.

All the ones I've seen on here just rig up a shifter cable.
