Use a salt ice brine mixture. In a large tub of cooler, fill 1/2 with water, rest with ice. Add Ice cream salt heavily. You are looking for the same consistency when you are making home made ice cream toward the end of the run. Very salty, 2/3 water and ice. Keep more ice available to keep it cold. As you shoot the fish, plop em in the ice slush mixture and let em set for 30 minuets. The ice salt flash freezes the fish and the salt preserves em. Take them out, put in a ziplock baggie and put them in a separate cooler of solid ice, put them in the freezer at home. This his how we preserve out catfish baits. It takes a lot of ice but works very well. For trapping you will have to thaw them out but not as messy as raw. We do it with Cast nets but bowfishing will work as well I guess.
