What's the best way to make one? Found a bay full of dogfish but was to shallow for my trolling motor. I do believe I can pole in there and do well. Probably only 4-6" deep with a foot or so of silt and sand.

most extendable poles are noisy and so is the spring loaded foot. best one I have found is the white 2 piece that cabelas sells. it comes with a aluminum point. I welded a wedge on it that's solid. cheaper setups are like some 2" PVC or the fur poles. id look into a PVC that fits over a fur pole for added strength.

here is the one I have, I welded a foot to the point since the point is useless for pushing. and it is a hex shape 2 piece pole, so best shape for strength, and less pieces to make noise.
