Push Pull Kicker Setup

Here is a kicker setup I just finnished for a guy. Its an 1870 with an 8 hp kicker. Sorry for the night time pictures. He came and got it last night when I got done so I didnt have a chance for day time pictures. I went with a custom 7'' travel cable to make sure we got full turning radius. It bottoms out the steering stops in both directions. Never got to put it in the water and try it out because I didn't have the fuel line or tank for the kicker.

That is correct on the location of the cables. I have setup a few boats like that and never had an issue. Not to say that there wouldn't ever be an issue though. You would have to catch that cable in just the right way to snag it. That would be a one in a million kinda deal. But you could easily weld or bolt a piece of angle that sticks out even with the motor to act as a deflector for anything you may hit while turning. I would have went around the other side with the cable had it been longer. I measured it for that way so I just went with it.
