I have an 18 foot pontoon. My question is since it has the square nose where I should mount my lights? I have 2 400s and 2 600s to work with. I was thinking the 2 400s on the front and 1 600 on each side. If i did that and had them pointing straight out will the corners be dark? I'd really like some input so I don't have to mount them 2 or 3 times to get it right. If i have to I can fill the corners with 2 50w warm white leds but would rather not have to do that....

I think you will be happy with that setup.

I had 3 400's on a 1654. One in front, 2 on sides and it was plenty of light with no dark spots. Just don't put the 600's at the back of the boat and you should be good in my opinion.
I was planning on having them around 4 to 5 foot from the front of the boat.

IMO if you point them straight out in the front you will be overlapping a lot of light up there in front of the troller. Kinda a waist. I'd have them slightly angled off each side.
That is kinda what i was thinkin.

Perhaps it's the type of water we shoot, foot hill lakes with steel banks, but 90% of our shots are in front of the boat. It's rare for us to take a ton of shots from the sides. I prefer more light forward facing.

Gary it seems to me that that's how it is around here to. That's why I'm putting both 400s on the front. I'm mainly concerned about the corners being dark tho.
