Myself, G-Force, my dad, my girlfriend and another friend had to go sort out a couple of excess blesbuck rams and warthogs on a friend's property.

Lila was up first with her .204, and managed to deliver excellent high neck shots angling into the brains of these two rams.
First one at 176m, and the second at 183m

My dad was up next and shot this youngish ram at about 150m, also with the .204
Willem also shot one with his .222, but we didn't take a pic.

Lila was asking me the whole year to kill a pig, so we took her to a spot at the lodge where the pigs destroy the lawns.
She shot this boar at 91m, frontal brain shot, with the 6mm Dasher.

While the skinner was busy, G-Force and I shot these 2 blesbuck. Calibres and distances are on the pics.
Mine was hit low in the chest, clipping the bottom of the heart, and GĂ© hit his behind the head.

We then killed 2 more pigs, but didn't take any pics.

Well,

It's got an A-Tec suppressor.

The 6mm Dasher is a custom built gun.

Leupold MK4 rail
GRS stock, glassbedded
Krieger 3-groove Heavy Varmint barrel
Silent Hunter Hunt Buddy suppressor
Nightforce NXS 3.5-145x50 NP-R1 scope
Cerakoted in Sniper Grey

The .243AI that belongs to my mate is:
Howa 1500 action
Krieger Heavy Varmint barrel
Richards Microfit stock
Numenor Reflex Suppressor
Burris 8-32x Black Diamond scope in Leupold rings and bases.
All Cerakoted.

The herds can only carry one or two males for every 30 or so females.
We then take the majority of bad genetics and old animal out.

What is the purpose of the suppressors? Muffling the sound obviously, but why is that important?
To keep the rest of the herd calm. We have killed up to 10 zebra from a single herd without any of them spooking.

I don't really understand the decision for the head shots. The room for error is to great, regardless of the distance, to make a quick humane kill. I understand keeping the population in check, but not at the risk of wounding an animal to were it runs off and can't be found due to lack of a blood trail. I'm no tree hugger, but would rather make a good vital shot on any animal due to the respect I have for the animals I hunt.
