First ,I want to thank your brother for his service .

But the pic. you posted is of a PSE Snap Shot rest !
I’m not saying the same thing could not happen to a QD, but that is not our rest.
Just looks like one. All blue rest are PSE Snap Shot & we have no control of their quality
or customer service .

I sure thought they are the same except the pse version is blue with the pse logo to match their blue bowfishing bows and cost a buck more because of it. When he bought the rest, it was called a "blue quick draw"...I just checked and it still is:

I know he thought he was getting the rest I told him a lot of people on here consider the best.

If they are not the same, then it just happened to bend forward the same way as missile's description. As far as I know, my brother doesn't want it replaced. He hated it. I'm sure they (PSE ?) would be have replaced it. I personally don't hold the maker responsible for it getting beat up...it is just aluminum after all. But the rest not tightening down enough is different matter. If it was bought local I'm sure it would have been returned the next day.

It came installed on the bow, no package or any extras. I did buy quick slip tape for him after the rest chunked out, but that junk lasted just a few shots. Wouldn't hardly stick to the rest.

If PSE is copying the QD rest, maybe QD should put a stop to that. If they are licensing the design, QD ought to make them build it better, because it sure looks like a QD and was/is being sold as one.
