The tape is just to reduce wear on the rest and reduce friction. any nylon adhesive tape will work.

 

Keeps your arrow from wearing on the rest. Mine came off last year and it eventually started to wear on the rest and arrow some so I think it's a good idea to use it.

 

lost mine along time ago. never had any problems shooting without it.
