Finally going to buy my material for my raised deck this week, and what a price and weight difference between .090" and .125" 1"x2"

Will I still be pretty solid with .090"?

Here is my plans and some dimensions.

Deck will be 60"x60" 14" tall

Red squares are vertical supports

Yellow is 45* angled gussets.

There is 9 anchor points and each will have angles supports.

.125 is 1/8th .0747 is 14 ga. i think the lighter is fine.

As long as you have enough cross members under the .090 to prevent "sagging" with weight you should be fine.
All platforms I have built over the years I used .125 tread plate without sagging problems.

Yep, I want it strong, but light. Was going to go with .090 plate but for $200 Im going to explore other options.

My cross braces will be every 15" so I think I should be good there

Our prices are pretty close. $2.55 a foot. In 20' lengths. Comes out to $51 before tax

16g aluminum wouldn't be enough to support any weight. Good for side paneling in a boat, but that's about it

Which way do you plan on putting the bottom bracing? Is the 1 inch side touching the plate or is the 2 inch side touching?

the one inch side down, a lot more strength
