All recurves are measured at 28 inches. Thats the industry standard. When you pull longer than 28 inches you'll gain 2.5-3 pounds per inch over 28. With that long of a draw you're probably going to be looking for a longer bow say 62 inches with a measured weight in the 35 pound range.

Good luck monkey arms ..... lol I will keep my eyes open!!!!!

I understand the 28 inch things.

So. Do I just look for a semi custom arrow slinger.

Can you get the limbs shaved?

Im guessing a longer tip to tip helps in the geometry?

I am well endowed with arms. Not so much in other areas though.

Just to shoot fish i wouldnt pop the money for a semi or custom bow unless you just want too. You know what a beating a bow fishing bow takes.
Three rivers archery has a samick sage take down recurve that's 62 inches and comes with stabilizer and sight bushings installed on their web site for $139.99. I've never shot one of these but it had a 4&1/2 star rating from 238 reviews.
Another option would be to go to a traditional only bow shoot. Theres always older bows that can be picked up for good prices. Ive bought several recurves for bowfishing at these shoots for $45-100. It just depends on who's got what and how bad they want to sell.

The longer the bow the smoother the draw and the less likely you are to feel stack. With your draw being so long i think a 62 inch bow is the shortest bow id look at maybe even try a 64.

Oh and dont forget yard sales, estate sales etc. I see youre in IN. Archery has always been a pretty big thing there from what I've heard. Im sure there's plenty of recurves around that's been in the closet or under the bed for years.

A lot of the target archery bows from the 60's and 70's were long being 64-68 inches and low poundage. If you found one of these you'd probably have to drill and install a stabilizer bushing though. I they're like $3-6 depending on where you buy it.

Lol. Yeah its a real beast. The story behind that is my son's friend made the comment about how would his boat look with a fan. I had looked over his boat for him and fixed a few odds and ends, while cooling off in front of the fan the idea hit me. So I stuck the fan on there snapped a pic and sent him the pic saying now he had a fan boat. Everyone that's seen the pic has got a good laugh from it.

I shot a samick predator takedown recurve for years. One of the limbs delaminated after a year and I called them and without question that sent a new SET so they would match. Mine is 52" long & 50# but I only have a 28.5"DL. I think if you get a 35-40# @ 28 you'll be about right at your draw. I've been glad to have the 50# when the big buffs where out.
