I have had a couple recurves straightened at a local archery shop by a older gentleman, that owned the shop, who was a trad archer since he was a kid. He said he would use heat and steam in a wooden box he made that fit just the tips. He said that you should only twist it back a little bit at a time time until it was straight again. But I dont believe he did it all once. He would do it then let it set and cool down then do it again and would continue the process until straight.

Yep mine got twisted a little bit from hanging on a single peg between the limb in string (dont ever do that!) It prompted me to finally get off my ass and make a proper hanging location for my recurve with 2 pegs and hang it strictly by the string. I popped the string out of the groove in the limb so as to make the bent limb have pressure on it to push back to straight, and hung it up for a week. Went out and shot that weekend, hung it up like normal and then it was fine. Like devree said it happened due to pressure and temperature changes naturally so it can be undone the same way. Steam is faster but it depends what you got and you comfort/skill level.
