I just broke another Muzzy XD... Anyway, I wanting to try an 888 or something different. What else is out there? I saw a thread on here a few weeks back about a reel that looks similar to the XD for about half price. Anyone know or remember the thread?

LOL yea I do have a couple retriever's and I use slides and rings with them...and that's PVC glue! I have been fixing irrigation systems the past few days.

What is the cover and bell? It would be very difficult for the hood to come off since they are screwed on and threaded unless it was loose to begin with but you can replace that. Does not sounds like anything broke on the reel, just the hood was loose and flew off. Please explain a little better and I am sure I can help you with the reel. You can PM or e-mail me if you wish.
The company that builds our reels also private labels some reels for other people as well, but the internals are very different and no reels out there are exactly like or as strong as the Muzzy XD reel, we have proprietary agreements on the changes, modifications and new parts I/factory came up with to create the XD reel. You will find out in the long run, they may last for awhile, but not as strong as the original XD reel.

Yea I really don’t know what fell in the water, but if it is what I think it is…lol it would have to be loose to begin with to just fall off…and I don’t know why all yall r tearing up these spinners…especially Muzzys!
