I have a 1989 aluminum procracft boat with a 75 hp motor. I loved the boat for fishing, I started bowfishing a few years ago. Since I started bowfishing I've hung up the rod and reel for the most part. The boat was in great shape, but bowfishing has taken a toll on it. One blood and carpet don't mix well, and im tired of scrubbing carpet. Another problem with the boat is it sits so low in the water. Thinking about removing the wood floor and some of the foam in the floor or all the foam in the floor, and replacing the wood with aluminum. Was wondering if anyone has done this and how much weight I could shed by ditching the foam. Then maybe getting some float pods. The way the boat is now we shoot alot of jumping silvers off the back and with two shooters the back of the boat is under water or should I just look for a new boat.
