We are on the Mississippi river and right now it is coming up due to heavy rains north of us. It will come up around 6' over a few days and then recede.
Any idea how long before fish will relocate? Some of the areas that are just to thick will now be accessible, wondering if it is worth checking out/ or has any experience told you they will just stay put?
Thanks

Generally fish get pushed up shallow and into new flooded areas when it floods. I had a tournament in winona last weekend and we found fish up shallow in grass/weeds. Got better during the night while it was raining. Only thing I gotta say is be careful with the river coming up, they already cancelled a tournament in Alma this weekend cause of the water and a couple guys who pretty much live on the river have said they wont even be out when it gets that high
