bump. What time is registration and launch? cant find it posted. Assuming reg starts at 530 and shotgun at 7Pm?

 

Shoot starts at 7PM.

Registration will be from two hours before start time (5PM) till start.

The launch we will use is the Lower Greens Run Launch (the locals know it as the Schencks Cemetery Launch)

It will be a shotgun start from the no wake zone.

We will have a safety meeting and go over the rules at approximately 6:45, as we did last year.

I am also going to set up a side pot for biggest Mirror Scale Carp. It will be a per boat/team sign up with largest fish taking all the pot. ($10 per boat/team)

***Lake Update***

For those of you that are not local or haven't been around, the lake is full and at capacity. It has been full for a few weeks now and I was down snooping around Sunday night (OK, I put the water pump out and had to make sure the new one was pumping) and rode around a little. There isn't a lot of debris floating like in past years and the water wasn't too bad for clarity. Should be a good night, as long as the rain this week doesn't screw up the water clarity or push the fish down.

We shot it Friday night water clarity was great. The fishing wasn't , they just weren't up. The flats that are always loaded with fish and muddy were gin clear. I'm sure it will be mud from this rain but so far the flow charts are good and it hasn't come up any.

 

I agree Brock, the clarity is good, but the cold weather has kept the fish from coming up to spawn or pre-spawn.

Bald eagle creek looks like chocolate syrup about 25 miles up stream of the lake. Isn't running much higher then normal just dirty.

 

I just crossed over it at Milesburg, on I-80. Didn't look too bad and was maybe a little higher than normal, but didn't look too bad...Hope the mud either filters out before it gets this far or it may be fun come Saturday night.

 

The creek is still alittle high up this way but the mud cleared up quick

I think . Haven't bow fished since last year at Raystown tournament. Should be interesting

 

wish I could make it but its just not gonna happen....shoot em up though fellas!

 

Wish you could make it, haven't seen you in a couple years. Maybe next year, it will be the weekend before Mother's Day again...so you can plan around it...

 

anyone got eyes on the lake?

 

I rode down after work tonight and checked three launches. An upper launch, lower launch and Hunters run. I also talked to three different guys who were pulling their boats out of the water to ask about clarity. It looked pretty good, the guys all said that the clarity wasn't bad. A guy that actually had Muzzy stickers on his boat gave the most information (he knew what i wanted to know) and said the lake all looked pretty good other than where the wind was beating the waves on the banks in certain spots.

If the fish cooperate and come up out of the depths, it could be a great shoot.

Hope to see a lot of guys there.

Nevermind, just found it. If anyone wants to check out the new Winchester Anglerfish bows, swing by the boat, we should be up around 5.

 

How was the shoot? Who won and what #... And of course pics lol

 

Was a tough shoot, rained hard about 3 times, temp dropped off and so did water temp. After that fish basically shut off. We came in at 3am with 17 fish and took 6th. I think 1st had 34.

 

Thanks for posting the pics Ronnie, We came in at Midnight after my trolling motor decided to fill up with water and quit working...We took 5th with 19 fish, and I am positive we could have been in the running for winning if we didn't have a mechanical failure. Fish were hard to find, but we found the secret and could find 3-4 at a time, just few and far between. First place had 31 fish.

Thanks everyone who showed up and made it a great shoot. We will be having this shoot next year same weekend. It will always be the weekend before mothers day.

 

I got an e-mail back from fish commission. Light rule will stay the same as before. Thanks again for the shoot. Bill
