I am relatively new to sport! Though it does not seem like it? Started in April of last year and now have 3 bowfishing bows and two boats (14' SeaArk & 16' toon). Now that deer season is winding down I am anxious to shoot fish and I noticed there are night time tournaments in February in North Alabama. I thought the fish would be deep? Where do you find them in February? And I know I'm NEW, but I know in the water! Where in water? How deep? What type of bottom? What type of structure? Thanks for the help!

we just got back from the black warrior in central alabama. best i can tell you is, get out there and look. we just cruised the shallows and weed beds. we seen quite a few. didnt shoot much but had a good time. i put 2 in the boat. a grinnel close to 8lbs and a buffalo around 15lbs. they are out there...

we went sat night jan 29 here in north middle tn shoot 3 40lb grassie and 60 or 70 buffs and some commons

I prefer the winter time for bigger fish. I find them in the same places I do in the spring, just seem to be bigger ones in the winter.

From now until late March is my favorite time of the year to shoot fish. No bugs, cool nights can't beat that. We find them in the same places as we do in the summer.

Yea same here the grinnel shooting is really good early in the year in the sloughs around here. We usually get into alot of spotted gar too.

Went Sat. night and shot quite a few good grassies, Feb is some of the best buff shooting around here! No bugs...it is great, lol... Some of the best water we find is off the river in backwater lakes and coves...

We usally start hittin the lakes hard in march but usally stick a few in jan. and feb. on some of the local hot water outlets on the back sides of the power plants.
