Alright fellas. I got to thinking the other day that I needed a creative way to dispose of some fish. I placed this ad on craigslist for "Free Compost/Garden Fertilizer" just to feel out what kind of response I could get. Well, in less than 24 hours, I now have more places than I need to get rid of our fish, and ultimately help someone else out. One guy said to bring everyone that I could possibly bring, of course he may change his tune when I get my buddies involved and they are all coming by every week as well. I don't know if anyone on here has placed an ad on CL like that before, but to me, it makes a lot of sense. The worst thing someones asks me is "what do you do with all of the fish you kill." And usually my answer consists of let the turtles or the coyotes or buzzards eat them. I did have a place at a nearby dairy farm where I was dumping, but if was even the slightest bit wet, you couldn't get to the compost/dead cow/manure pile. I like the fact that I can now say that people in my area like to take them for garden compost. I thought some of you guys that have posted about dumping fish would like to try this in your area.
There is no reason that anyone should be dumping at a boat ramp making it look bad for all of us. Do a little research in your area so that you can responsibly dispose of your fish
Now if the weather would just cooperate with us, we would be out killing tonight instead of posting this thread!
