I plan on introducing a couple good friends to bowfishing this year who have never been and wanted to know if I should stick them with a retriever or a spinner. I started out with a retriever and now strictly spinner so don't know if I would have had issues starting off with a spinner in the beginning. For those that take out new people on a regular basis, what do you usually have your friends (or clients) use to start off? I don't want them to get discouraged if they keep forgetting to push the button and snapping the line with a spinner but don't care for having 100ft of line being puked out of the retriever either. Just curious what the experiences were of others that frequently have new people on their boat.
They are still scratching their heads each time I decide to shoot fish instead of turkeys during turkey season so hoping to enlighten them a little this year.
