I have one but once in a while air gets in the system and it changes a bit.

Also if someone wants to get a hydraulic system you will need the splash well mount option. Also look into the higher ratio helms like the 2.4 to 1.

Effortless! I have one on mine, but I have a twist steer like most drum and cable style sticks "L" shaped. Push the button left and the stick moves left. Push the button right and stick moves right....no pushing or pulling required at all! I went with the twist style steering stick because I like that the stick points in the direction that the boat is turning....makes it easy for other people to drive while I've got a fish on.
Whats that setup look like? I can imagine the stick, but not the switch and why it turns the stick and fan?

It's an adjustable tensioner I made to keep the chain tight since I can't slide the idler shaft to adjust with the actuator hooked up to it.
I have the switch mounted on my stick, used a toggle switch previously but have a trim switch mounted up now to use.

Where did you buy yours at?

Hey markland what brand cable and size push pull cable did you use?

I got it from Diamondback Airboats do not remember what brand it was but is the 3/8 diameter and has the 3/8-24 end fittings on it.

It does pivot slightly, I just have the other end of the actuator mounted on a SS pin mount I made. I can pull 2 pins and drop the whole actuator off in case it fails and go back to the stick steering. I made some nylon bushings for the actuator to ride on so there is no wear on it.

What is the reason for having the steering cable and electric actuator? Could a setup be made with just the actuator and control the steering with a two way electric switch? Put a button on a stick with a throttle cable that u can push one way to turn the fan right n opposite way to turn left? Just wondering if I can build a setup without having to run a cable system. Jus electric wires for a switch and a throttle control
