Just a tip, take the (2) bolts that bolt the ball coupler to the tongue and hit the nuts with a welder or actually weld the nuts and heads of bolts to tongue, just a couple good hard tacks. That keeps from just unbolting the coupler with the lock on and bolting a new coupler back on, the holes are pretty standard and just cheap insurance against a determined or educated thief...can be removed in future if need be but will need a grinder to cut off the welds
Yup, didn't mention that but yes. It's worthless if you don't have it welded... Best of luck finding the boat. Hope you had insurance on it!

Yeah if your whole hitch is bolted on that could be removed. I was just thinking about the actual lever part. Mud u best weld them bolts. And heck I need to check mine too.

If the thief wants the boat bad enough, he's gonna get the boat. You're never going to be able to keep someone from being able to steal your boat. If they want it bad enough, it might take a lot of work but they'll get it. It's just something to try to deter most of those rotten people.

Lock only keep a honest person honest.
Locks can be cut off all so.
Yup with battery power angle grinders now it's pretty easy to cut anything off, but that's noisy and the whole idea is to make it hard as possible to steal....Mud,didn't they steal your Hanko??? If they did, how did they get that one??? With fishing season may help someone else from getting stolen. Mines in yard behind chain link fence, with vehicles in front of gate, with locks on tongue also. And wasn't Rivers Edge Boat taken from a Hotel parking lot???
