Shoot this in TN lake to remain ?
Are you kidding me?!?!?!?!:groan: I've killed 10 or 11 this year alone!!! And looking at that water and nw TN and its daytime I'm almost positive they came from the same place. I wish I had known. Where or who would I sell them too? (If it matters I have my TN commercial license)....kicking myself right now.Between $2,500-$3,500
The ones I've killed this year are more orange than those. Is there a difference? I've also killed a bunch that are a really pale yellow with tan/brown markings, a desert tan color (really light tan) with either white or black markings, and I killed one that was flat black with an almost pearl white stripe from the back of the gill plate to the tail. Any of those anything special?
All of them are valuable. The yellow tan go for less than the bright orange ones which get the most money. Those bright orange can go up to $3,500 each. Anything with unusual markings has the potential to be valuable. I buy them just for my personal tank and would like to get a few more. I have a black one, 2 pure orange's, one white dalmation pattern, and a yellow tan black. If your serious that you can get them call me on my cell phone at work which is 612-369-4698. That is the number for Genadek landscaping and Excavating Inc but the message goes to me and I keep it on 24hrs a day.The ones I've killed this year are more orange than those. Is there a difference? I'm dead serious about getting them. I saved your number in my phone. Unfortunately I can't get after em until this govt bs is over because the ramps are closed. Are you gonna be able to tell me how to keep them alive long enough to get them to you?All of them are valuable. The yellow tan go for less than the bright orange ones which get the most money. Send me your number on my phone or a PM. We can go over the best way to catch them unharmed-like a gar rope lure works great. The easiest way to keep them alive is in a styrofoam cooler with a lid and lake water. Something about the size of a 30 gallon (3ft long) or bigger. Just cover it so they don't jump and leave room (air space) at the top so they can gulp. Gars are air breathers and will drown but otherwise are extremely hardy. Call me asap and I will figure out how to get it from their. I am in Minnesota but drove down to Florida for 2 of the three I own. I would really like to get a couple more-hope you can find one.I'm dead serious about getting them. I saved your number in my phone. if these gar were stocked say in a 30 acre lake would they reproduce and have some of the exotic colors? might be something to try.All of them are valuable. Yes they would. The Asians-around Thailand- have been breeding "Platinum" or "snow" gars for years. These are white with black eyes. About 1 out of 1/2 million fry turn out white, then the babies tend to eat each other. The commercial fisheries stateside sometimes get 1 white gar every few years by accident. Considering how many they produce that is a pretty slim margin. The smaller gars -like Florida or shortnose- have a few gold ones naturally produced in the wild, but not really any white ones. The larger gars-specifically alligator have a few white ones with black eyes produced in the wild --rarely. BUT NEVER has any species produced a white gar with pink eyes-a true albino. That fish would probably be worth $100,000 to the right person.:tu:if these gar were stocked say in a 30 acre lake would they reproduce and have some of the exotic colors? might be something to try.
have any color you want, maybe baby blue.:re:How does alcohol and light sandpaper effect a gars eyes? Just trying to figure out how to prep em for paint. Light base coat or self etch? Hahaha
What size tank is that?
