Actually I just cleaned out my freezer.
All four of these are from this year and all are state records in Illinois.
The state biologist asked me to hang on to them for a while.
I feel fortunate to have had a great year in spite of the rain.

Wow! that's a HUGE bowfin! How big was it if you don't mind?

I shot one bowfin that was right at about 12lb and my buddy shot one that was an oz shy of 13lb. Those suckers can put up a fight when they get that big! Awesome!
