You will notice a couple of changes.
First the Today's topics is gone. The What's New uses the today's topics by default. It still bolds any threads that have updated since you last read them. In essence the today's posts always did the same thing as new posts except it was a longer list.
Also, you will notice at the top of the page when you click new posts, you can adjust the refresh rate on the page. It defaults to 60 seconds but you can set it up to 5 minutes. This setting is remembered for up to 30 days in a cookie. Since you need cookies to stay logged in anyway this should work for anyone using the forum. It will only show when you are looking at the what's new page. It goes away as soon as you go into a thread or forum.
So, its a little different than the old forums, but this was the only way to get this feature back and it is a sorely missed feature.
I will be adding a "Never Refresh" option for anyone that wants it. It will set the refresh at 30 minutes. Enough essentially stop it.
Enjoy everyone!
