Im seriously following this thread as well.....^^^^can you explain what all them controls are for....Im really kinda dumb when it comes to settin stuff up and the only thing holdin me back is the know how....

Red button is kill switch
Black button is start
T handle is shift
Black knob is throttle
Grey handle is steering
And the big hole is for my umbrella

Guys do you think it would be worth it to put a hydraulic jack plate with trim up and down option on a kicker Rig?

Yes. I'd like one. I've got the manual bracket now. It would be really sweet to be able to adjust kicker depth from the front of the boat. I just installed a mini jacker on a buddy's boat. Ilike it but having trim would help even more.

I figured it would be definitely a better option. I'm heading to a kicker rig myself. Looking at the Suzuki 15 hp four stroke.

Trade you mine for one of them airboats. Lol!

Ouch!! I'll keep kickin. Lol

How do kicker's handle thick matted weeds? The kind that grow to the surface, lay over and keep growing, cant even row threw it let alone drive troller?

Mine does pretty well since putting on the adjustable bracket. I lift my kicker pretty high and keep on keepin on. The bracket gets the kicker away from the boat which helps a lot.

That is a sweet setup did you make the steer handle or does that come with the steering kit . With my 36 inch sides do ya suppose its going to be tough to mount it where it will work mine has a long shaft im guessing around 25 inch . Thank you for all your help and info.

hacksaw,u need 2 kickers for that thing u got. Lol.

Thanks. If you put an adjustable bracket on it it'll help a lot. The steering handle is a custom job that a guy in nc makes. A lot of powrtran guys use them. Its basically 3 pieces of aluminum that mount with the right/left button that comes with the powrtran. I like my kicker mounted to where it can be a foot down in the water or all the way up to about even with the bottom of the boat.

So a hydrolic jack plate would be best ? Where do you find the powertran kits and i would want to go with a control setup like yours that looks easy to use and not any bigger than a troller head up front.

It's all in what you like bud. A lot of guys use the controlking. I had one but it broke. It wasn't any better than what I've got now. My cables not spring loaded or anything so it stays where I put it. I guess just go to powrtrans website and go to find a dealer. I know a couple dealers but I figure there are some closer to you. Like I said, I've got the Manual bracket that does fine. If I change anything it'll be power tilt and trim. Get that motor away from the boat is the best help.

Is that the python steering controls thats what i found on their site . Who do i order one of those steering handles from ?

no problem man. My system is a few years old but I tapped the end of the steering shaft and installed the new flat python linkage. It's a lot better than the old style. The guy that makes those handles name is Alton. I'll pm you his number. Not sure if everyone is suppose to have it. Lol. The only downside of a powrtran is until you've used it on your boat for a while you won't know where it is turned to without looking back.
