We built a fin out of a pieced of aluminum sheet that mounts to the transom and folds up and pins when using the outboard. when on the troller we tilt up the outboard and drop the fin down. lets us run in a lot shallower water.

When i get back I will try to get some pics posted. We dont have power tilt/trim so the outboard is either up or down, got hung on a rock on Lake Granbury one night and bent a prop blade so we rigged up the "trolling fin" Boat tracks straight and outboard is up and safe.

Here are a couple pics of the fin. We used a wall mount for a television stand for and screwed the wall plate to the transom. Slotted the tube the tv platform was to mount on and slid the homemade fin in it and through bolted. Drilled an 1/8 inch hole through the mount and tube so it can be pinned in the up postition.
