So I bought my little brother a Jr Hawk. Got him set up with a Big Game Pro reel and a float too...

I told him he couldn't go out until he could hit two out of three dr pepper cans from the boat to the ground.

Caught some video of him practicing.

Then we went out last night on Lake Waco and it sucked. We maybe saw three buffalo and two gar. Shot the only gar we had a chance on. Unfortunately my little brother didn't shoot one on his first trip, but it's still a little early... At least he'll learn in the beginning that not every day is a great one and that'll help him appreciate the good days more.

Awesome! Thats nice of ya to do for your little brother! Good luck to him next time!!

Nice bowfishing shoes. I wear crocs so it dont matter when I get blood everywhere.
I used to wear crocs for the same reason (eaasy to clean), till an 8.5 pound sheephead dropped of the arrow as we were bnringing it on board, and landed on my foot with it's dorsal fins pointed down. That left a mark.......or five!!!!!!

Glad to see you helpin to bring him up right.

until i get some bedliner or hyrdoturf on that deck, you have to wear some good tennis shoes. gets a little slick once you've gotten some fish on it.

That is priceless. Did he know you were filming him?

Thats really cool. did he pay for the gas too?
We were talking on the boat about how fuel efficient the boat/generators are and he said "if I had any money, I would give you some for gas, but I just bought a .22 pistol with all of my savings." He is a really good little brother and with the 15 year age difference, we get along really well.

No, I was in the house. I had been watching him shoot for a little while then thought I'd film because he was so particular making sure the safety slide was where it should be, etc.

I scared him on the dangers of getting his string tangled up or not releasing the trigger and now he's super safe. I don't need him shooting me on the water.

Post more pics on the next trip.
We had been planning to go out every night this week, but cold weather with a chance of rain has killed it. It's his Spring Break, which is why I took off work this week to come up and take him fishing.

Thats really cool, I have gotten both my brothers and my sister into bowfishing and they love to go. Glad to see he's having a blast with it :hb:
