Throughout the years shooting with several partners we have always split everything down the middle including all winnings, including big fish regardless who shot it.I have heard mention on here about a three way split with a share going to the boat, and with the trying times we are in,I was wondering how many guys do this?

My partner and I just kinda play it by ear??? He owns the boat... but I bought the trolling motor and half of the generator... he always pulls it with his truck so after gas expences and replacement expences we split what is left and hope to cover the cost of the trip with the winnings...which is rare:groan:
*also not being the boat owner in this case I absolutly make sure that nothing as far as maintnence is concerned is soley on his shoulders*
this should prevent the boat from needing to be a "team member"
we are a team after all and both need that boat to do anything fun

+note: this boat was in no way in any kind of condition to be utalized for bowfishing...
...so we have not devalued it we actually have added value...

My partner and I own a company together and that company pays all the fuel and hotel (cause we are actually working ;) ). I own the boat but he always kicks in on new stuff or repairs. Guess I'm blessed with a great best friend
And he usually pulls with his truck

Because of continual boat maintenance and equipment upgrades the "standard" should be that expenses (vehicle gas & boat gas/oil & entry fee) should be split equally regardless of winnings. Then winnings should be split equally with the boat getting an equal share. That boat equal share will not come close to the expenses of maintaining, but is not an unreasonable expectation for the boat owner. I have over $3K in my rebuild project that all who fish with me this year will benefit from. I will address this with tourney partners prior to any tournaments this year.

How do you handle the "fun fishing trips"? Usually my boat, my truck.........................

Great points DEDI,"fun",trips I am pretty fortunate that especially Jeffrm always ponies up.Pretty much all of our waters have a fee up to $17 a trip,so there isnt much room for "slacker/mooches"

I gotta admit that my team is pretty awesome, we each understand the others situation and help each other out when we can financially. When we win, it goes to the boat, any damage is fixed and then the money goes toward the next tourny.
