Yea, this is probably accurate for today's "quality" trolling motors.
I fished for years with a 36 pound thrust motorguide that was wired with 12ga wire, run to the back of the boat, to a non deep cell battery that was hooked to a regular onboard charger. The only thing I ever managed to tear up was shear pins, and the only other problem I had was bending the metal shaft a little after hitting a cypress knee head on.
you go buy any brand troller today and try this and you wont get from one fish to the next with out burning up some internal components or something breaking. I guess this is the main reason why I have not put one on the airboat for daytime fishing yet...
dude, I hate your troller has you down, but hopefully this will light a fire under your hind end and make you chit can the troller and start with the fan project...
