I was thinking of bow mounting troller under my shoot deck with a hinged door in the deck for deploying/recalling the troller. That way im not tripping over the mount and i can stick my leds under the deck. Anyone else out there doing the same? If so, can you help a brother out with some pics? Thanks gang!

Hmm, true. Although if you're close enough to a rock to break it off, you would still be pulling it straight up to get it out of the way fast enough, just might be a PITA this way. Its a 1860 mod v, so Im trying to keep as much real estate as possible on deck. What i need is a troller with a rock auto sensor that lifts itself out of the water for you haha.

Port side of deck flips up to drop trolling motor. I fixed my trolling motor so that it does not lock when it's down. I just tie a rope around it when fishing so that when it gets too shallow or rocky, I just pull it up out of the way with the rope.

Another thread going on this right now as well. Mine is near the bottom:

For what it is worth if I could move the troller to the middle and set it up the trap door to be centered I would. If I ever get a new troller and redesign my deck I will make that change to the boat. Sometimes the troller off to the side is a PITA and doesn't track straight, hits docks, etc.
