Ok, I know this is probably most everyone's problem on here but I am at a total loss... No matter how much I replace seals, clean armature, unstick brushes, etc... my 70lb powerdrive v2 like the 4 other trolling motors I have had in the last three years fail constantly. Get water in them, burn up wires, brushes stick and break, etc... I have old crappy batteries- could that be part of some of the failure? I mainly run them with genny. Also with it taking on water, is there some type of sealant I can use? I get so frustrated cause it seems like every time I go out on the water, I end up having to pull it apart and attempt a patch job to get me thru. I don't feel like I am too hard on them. Any help would so be appreciated in advance. - eric
Trolling motor has to be overhauled once to twice s year... What am I doing wrong??

Like deer said, step up to 36v and you can move more with less percent power. Less power percentage to go faster causes less heat=longer troller life....or you could go kickerIf you are continually running 80-100% that is what's killin your trollers.... They weren't designed to run that hard all the time, only momentary... .Go bigger so you only have to run 50%![Image]()
