totally depends on your style....I like the control I have with the foot control.I have it in a recessed pan which is huge although I did Capn Morgan it for many, many years.I can run fish down and have both hands on my bow.I also like mine up on the platform even though my platform folds down and the troller adds 80lbs.I like it up top because we fish in heavy weeds and I like to be able to just reach down and pull it up to miss a rock or stump or to clean weeds off

I also like foot control. I bass fished for so many years that's what I'm used to. I like having both hands free at all times and still be able to turn at any time. I run a flush deck, so the other question doesn't pertain to me, but like Kuger said I would want it on the deck because I also have to pull mine up to clear weeds, sticks, and avoid obstacles.

I had a foot control with a sexy stick on it last year and switched to haveing two remote controls this year. Absolutely love it. I have one and my cousin has one, when one of us shoots the other takes over steering. And you can steer from anywhere on the boat. Mk terrova 112# with co-pilot.

I'm a big fan of a hand control troller. They're easier for anyone to quick pick up and drive. Say you shoot a fish and are back putting it in the barrel and the boat is about to hit a stump anyone can quick steer the troller around it without much if any practice.
