Still planning my steering for my new kicker set up. I had decided to go with a push pull steering but the more I thought about it and read I'm starting to second guess my decision for a couple of reasons.

first, I've shot and driven a few boats with twist style steering and really like them. I don't want to go through all of this fabrication and have a steering system that I hate.
Secondly, If I have to run to the back of the boat anybody can step up and drive it.

I still want to stay with a push pull cable so that its a clean set up. With that being said, I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to set up a twist style steering with a push/pull cable like I have drawn in the attachment?

looks like it could work but you wont get as much leverage as traditional push pull because your fulcrum will be much shorter so it could be tougher to steer. its easy to learn push pull once you remember which way to push the stick to turn.
