Ky I am not to sure it would break just might be to much give in the retriver line to make it snap and break. I guess we need to try it shootin through a machine to be safe

the cat cracked me up and I had to call in all my kin to see this guy who is at full draw and still has half a foot of arra sticking out past his riser! LOL, brady you must be a horse jockey or something, I draw my bow back and watch the arra, when the gar point is dug into the riser I stop drawing and that is my anchor point.

so I got a short draw length ...probably pulled off the string @ 25" or so.
It is very very dangerous to tie to the back you should never do this if you like your face but I'm a risk taker so i always tie to the back . LOL
man i luv this all dad did when we was young was tie to the back he asked me the other day why i didnt he figured i would shoot better if i did tie to the back instead of using them rings thanks for the laughs brady b nice to ur kitty it loves u lol

brady, I am so glad you made these video's and posted it....I have been trying so hard NOT to post on this thread......I usually try to stay neutral with products publically, but this one has gotten me in some rather heated discussions over the years.....with suicidal tendancies for tying to the back instead of being safe and using slides...
this is just my opinion, mark's,,,,not officer, not anything but someone who bowfishes, and has HIS OWN personal preferences......
when safety slides came out I gave them a try along with other things that come and go....watching the gator gar go one way with your arrow, and the slide come back when your reeling in WITHOUT your arrow got old...... quick! The screws they used that hold the stopper would ALWAYS come out by the end of the night causing me to lose arrows...I lose many an arrow, but for no other reason than my own fault....
I have been told that if I did not fish with safety slides then I could not shoot from someone's boat.....needless to say, I did not shoot from someone's boat! I have had the line wrap around the reel handle, my hand, and reel, and NEVER had an arrow come back or get in ANY situation to where anyone in the boat was in danger....the only problem I have had was watching the arrow fly in slow motion and fall by the fish!

Its crazy.....until I got on here I thought everybody tied to the back.In 20 + years I never seen anybody out here shoot slides.......never seen a one eyed shooter either!
Now that I pay attention to what guys are using I see a few using slides but none of the big dogs

I'm not telling anyone they need to tie to da back, im just saying dont tell me not to do it.
I have both eyes but after a season or two my partners only have one, then they quit for some reason. It's been an experiment to prove that the arrow doesn't always come straight back. Either that or I can duck super fast.
I'm kinda like the old lady who says she been driving for 50 years and never had an accident, sure seen a bunch of them in her rearview mirror though.

I shoot with both eyes closed. I don't hit fish very often, but my percentage went up after I started just closing both eyes.
