Ok another crazy question...could a guy "slot" or drill homes in the older riser to reduce weight in strategic places to cut weight yet hold it's structural integrity? Or is this a big no no? I'm not saying get plum crazy but if I could shave 1/4-1/2 a pound it's that much.

I have a Tomcat with a lightened riser and you're talking ounces. IMO the ounces shaved off are not worth the structural integrity of the bow unless you're shooting lighter poundages.
What this guy said if you have a problem with the bows weight you are really gunna hate the weight with a spinner or retriever you could just be proactive and do strength training instead of hacking the bow down. I drilled holes in mine and it really wasn't for weight it was to be different. It's a 35 55 bow and ive shot that riser with 70 pound limbs. But I don't ever suggest windowing a riser its not smart.
