Umm the origional slick tricks only had a 1" cutting diameter, which is 3/16" of an inch smaller then the standard 3 blades. Thats a huge difference I dont know where you got your info from. Even the slick trick mags, which is an exact copy of the Muxxy 0's arent that big
magnums are 1-1/8 inch.....three blade muzzys are 1-3/16th.... thats not much difference considering there is four blades on the ST and three on the Muzzy.

and i call bs on you making perfect shots and loosing 4 animals.... if the shot is perfect you can kill them with a field tip. no way the shot was "perfect" and your arrow left a 1" hole in the animal and you couldnt find him. either your shot wasnt "perfect" or you suck at tracking

The number of blades dont make that big of a difference, and go ahead and edit your earlier post where you were wrong about the muzzys having a smaller diameter while you can. And if you saw the area we hunted youd understand its the thickest briar infested/grapvine/mesquite infested brush you can immagine. Those slick tricks dont leave much of a bloodtrail at and they were all good shots we found 2 of the deer two days later and they were great shots double lunged and about 1/8" away from the heart, so had he been using muzzy o's, he wouldve hit the heart! kidding on the heart part but he really lost 4 deer on great shots with the slinder 1" slick tricks

I think we all know what a deer looks like after a rage has left its mark, like an ax went through that thing

i dont need to hear about briar thickets. all we have is thick woods here.

ive had nothing but excellent blood trails with the slick trick magnums. every deer i have shot with them have left huge blood trails that anyone could follow. even a few bad shots have still left good blood and led to a recovered animal.

just like you said earlier about the rages. slick trick is doing well, and your issues with them arent going to hurt their business. plenty of people use the simple fixed blade slick tricks with great success.

stick to what ever you like, and if thats rage so be it.

i myself, will stick with slick tricks until they fail me.

Well I ASSURE you my Hoyt is not out of tune: (I also own Matin,PSE, G5, Bowtech, TNT, Barnsdale,Darton, Monster, Oneida's and a couple one off customs) I Assure you if they didn't shoot like a laser I would not own them!

If people are going to start attacking my Tuning or shooting skill I invite you to show up at some of our events and out your money were your mouth is!!!

This thread is not a commercial for slick trick or Rage, just trying to see if others experience same problem!

I agree with you. Just ruffling feathers for my enjoyment.

i have shot around 25 deer with 2 inch 2 blade rage and have not lost a single one while shooting them, have shot two bears with them, i shot a mule deer this year in montana at 56 yards, went in behind a rib on entry side and right through the shoulder on exit side and was sticking out about 6 inches with both blades in tact. i think they are great but to each his own i guess

Rage is for people that cant shoot... Muzzy baby..

I shoot Muzzy's 100 grain 2 blades most the time but I also have some Rage's and I have had great luck with them so far! But Muzzys are easy to find anywhere and do the job

My dad shoots them, I clean his deer...I don't like them at all. And I've never seen one that you could reuse after being shot through some bones. I like the slick tricks ...nasty little broad points.

That's where u are wrong, the number of blades makes a big difference. Cut Diameter doesn't mean much at all. It's about cutting Surface!
Now your 2" rage two blade have a 2" of cutting surface, meaning they do damage to 2" of tissue. A ST standard has 1" cut dia but it also has 2" of cutting surface which cuts 2" of tissue. The damage done by both heads are the same. Now a ST Mag that it 1 1/8 cut diameter has 2 1/4 cutting surface. So infact does more tissue damage then your two blade rage.... Number of blades do matter.
On a side not, STs are way stronger then a muzzy and the MX4 u claim are the same as a ST are not even close. The MX4 fly like crap and arnt as tough... Look at any poll on the worst tuning broadhead. You will see that the MX4 always takes the cake.

Now to the OP, your not the only person to have issues with a Rage. I've personally see the blades come completely off 2 different heads shot by 2 different people. There are also a ton of other guys that claim to have had the same issues plus blades comming open and also problems with lack if penetration.

THANK YOU FOR A WELL SPOKEN INFORMATIVE, SENSIBLE ANSWER!!!
I also agree on the Muzzy MX line I prefer the Std.100gr 4 blade Muzzy or Std. ST's

Still on my original 3 pack. Allot may frown, but I have 8 deer down with just 2 of the rage heads. The only reasons I even went to the second one was because it fell out of the back of the four wheeler at recovery. Found it 2 years later and head is still good. Thats the only one I even replaced a o-ring on.
