I was having pull out issues on big grass carp so went to the yellow jacket shafts and muzzy big fish points. They work great . I put two of the biggest grasseys in the boat I've ever shot but both shafts splintered the first night. What's some of the points and shafts y'all prefer for big fish?

i like grapples on soft fish. but on solid grassies either innerloc pro points or some people love the 4 barb lil stingers.
as far as shafts go i still like the yellowjacket even tho they do hav a reputation for coming apart in one way or another. for the price and consistancy its just hard to beat the white shafts. ive shot carbons but wasnt very impressed.

on big fish it really doesnt matter what combination of arrow you use. the very best holding arrow is usually the 2nd.
Had a back up in one that was a standard muzzy carp point that fell out when we got the fish in the boat. The muzzy big fish points seemed to hold better but still like those back ups.

The muzzy big fish tips are some great holding tips. I love the fact that you can just screw it on when you are targeting big fish and take it off when going after smaller ones. Many times when shooting smaller fish in thick grass or alot of roots you don't want the " holding" power of larger tip. The Muzzy makes it where your can get one arrow and shoot either big or small with it. The only thing negative thing is, it takes some good poundage to push it thru a big fish. If shooting big buffs or grassies shoot enough poundage to poke it through them.

4 barb lil stinger and plain white shaft or RPM Hazard shafts have been working great for us this year. Used Long barbs early this year and really like them too. They just don't seem to have the holding power of a lil stinger when the fish get soft though.

I must be shooting plenty of draw weight cause I had a complete pass through on a 47# grass carp. Must have hit him just right cause the rest the point just poked through the other side.

we shoot three barb grapples on any shaft but a yellow jacket, got tired of pulling carbon out of my hands, wen targeting big grassies crank the poundage up aim towards the gill plates wen possible and dont horse em til u vet a backup arrow in em!
