50's are awesome lights. i only have 3 to test and ill be getting 3 more asap. The waters that i shoot are by no means clear. but they arent muddy. I guess you could say they have a green stain to them
Ok thanks guys.Wonder how long they will last On one battery ? Should I get the 12v, 24v or AC ? I think I will have room for 12 lights. Probably be running a 36v 101 troller off of converters. Can I still wire the lights into converters if DC? How many watts will 12 lights draw if AC ?
Sorry for all the questions but I need to make some decisions pretty quick.
If you get the 12v its going to take a few batteries to get a full night out of it if you want to run silent. But if you get the 120v, you can run a small quiet Honda or Yamaha with a converter and get a pretty quiet night
I just mounted sixteen 27w on my boat. We took it out for the first time last night and had a great time. Very happy with the light and the SILENTS. Never fished behind any LEDS bigger then these so i have nothing to compare them to but they put off plenty of light. Killed alot of fish including my biggest gar and a really nice mirror carp. The nice thing about the LEDs waes we were able to take our wives and kids and have a good time without yelling over the generator.
I don't have LEDS yet, but soon will. If they were not as good as alternatives, it still be worth the loss of light just not to here the genny all night. IMO.
I've only been out once with mine but it really seems to spook them less. I had alot of close easy shots that I did't seem to get the last couple of years while running a generator. This may just be me fooling myself into believing I made the right move but the silents is worth every penny.
They dont seem to spook as bad we have been putting alot more fish in the boat since we switched. They dont reflect as bad and your eyes dont hurt so bad at the end of the night . Mine seem to cast out far enough to see fish farther than most can shoot them cant really think of anything i dont like about my 27s. Love the silence thats gotta be worth any other drawbacks to them.
Ive only been out a couple times, but I got into some fish where my buddies genny boat spooked fish. Really muddy water though or it woulda been awesome. The fish glow silver rather than gold with HPS.
I really like my LED, silent is awesome. Im runnin high wattage and big troller with good run time.
You're gonna need a converter or an alternator to keep it charged. I had just one 50w led hooked up the other night to my starting battery and it sucked it dead in just a little bit and I had to leave the charger hooked to it the rest of the night. Not sure how good the battery is but it tested over 75% before I left the house.
Oh yea at 2' there awesome lights, the buffs we shoot are in 3-7' of water. If i didn't like shootin buffs so much I would keep the 27 watters no doubt
