I just got a 3500 watt running, 30 amp, champion generator for Christmas. the generator has 3 120v plug ins. I am going to use it for bow fishing, and want to know if I should go with halogens or LED. I live in Nebraska and most waters I am going to bow fish are going to be murky, so I would think I would want to use halogens. But I want at least seven lights on my boat. For 7 halogens, that would be (if I am doing the correct math formula) 3500 watts and 29.16 Amp. Would that be running my generator to hard? Would I need to divide them up on different cords and pug ins? Also, I heard halogens attract bugs that it makes it miserable, is that true? If I go with LED's, I would use 8-10, 27 watt 4 inch spot lights. If you type '27 watt led bow fishing lights' on YouTube, a guy has 8 of them on his pontoon and they seem pretty bright. I cannot afford (because I am about to start college next fall) $100.00 LED per pop. Please let me know which ones I should pick. If it helps, I am on a 1648 Jon boat with a 12inch raised deck. Thanks!!!
