I am not gonna be suprised at all if its a hybrid of some sort but a blood test would have to be done for that correct? I hope its a shortnose for my wifes sake she is soooooo excited about shootin it! lol If its a hybrid then Ill make the first entry into the records for a hybrid of its catagory!! lol

Look on the web or on BFC under specie identification and look up a shortnose and its the EXACT SAME COLOR and markings as this fish!

I have to agree on the hybrid part, the color is what throws it for me but congrats to her whatever the hell it is!!!!! Plus you beat the living crap out of it so thats worth something right their :clap: But I hope it is and she gets the record!!!!

 

First... Its a heck of a nice fish! Second.... Its what the aquarium gurus call a croc iii hybrid. a cross between a spot and longnose. Now thats just my opinion and i hope Im dead wrong and they certify it as a shorty!

Either way looks like MOMMA wants to hang it in the living room! I have shot LOTS of longnose bigger than 22lbs but this is her first " BIG GAR" and she wants to mount it. 50 1/4" long and 22lbs was the official certified weight btw
