i am getting one mounted im going with a replica mount and its gonna be 15 dollars an inch were im takin mine. didnt mean to hijack just answerin a question

better be good for that price that would be $790 for my big longnose this year

I dont know. The replica would probably be better but I havent decided. I have a hook up in the TAXI field since I was a taxidermist for 5 yrs so Im gettin a good deal on it!

I got a 8" scar down my chest from that big basteeerd and my buddy got his leg whacked up so we beat em in good! lol

Either way looks like MOMMA wants to hang it in the living room! I have shot LOTS of longnose bigger than 22lbs but this is her first " BIG GAR" and she wants to mount it. 50 1/4" long and 22lbs was the official certified weight btw

Well, I hope she isn't wanting to get a skull mount done!! Awesome fish, I would mount it regardless. Tell her congrats!

good fish, looks exactly like a 28lb one i shot in the river during a tourney last year, looked hydrid and different so didnt bother trying to get it weighed and all.

Well its on the way to HEADS and TAIL Taxidermy this weekend! Paperwork sent off to the state so we will know soon enough! I dont care either way! Momma is excited and wants it mounted so its gettin did! lol Its the biggest SHE has ever shot so thats all that matters but if it was some sort of record that would be awesome!

it looks to be hybrid from a gator gar/ needle nose but i've been told there are no gator gar in PK or is there a few people don't know about awesome fish congrats. For better outdoors take a kid hunting & fishing it's our future. Randy

i talked to them about a replica at head to tail and he told me skin mounts is what they do

That's an awesome fish. I wouldn't have conked him that hard though, lol. It is almost definitely a spotted/longnose hybrid, and is the biggest one I've ever heard of. It's also the only one I know of being shot, all the others I've seen pics of were raised in captivity. (Another one of those fish worth 50k if you had him alive, probably!)
