50 x 10 = 500w
100 x 10 = 1000w
50 x 12 = 600w
100 x 12 = 1200w

A predator 2000w generator from harbor freight is 1600 running watts. Any generator with over 1200 running watts will be big enough.

Honestly I’m not sure. I ran halogen lights on my last boat straight off the generator and am under the impression I can’t do that with led lights unless I have an inverter generator or a separate inverter. If I am wrong someone please guide me in the right direction

You can get LEDs either in 110V AC or 12/24V DC. If you have AC lights you can run them straight off the generator. If you have DC, you have to power them from batteries or an AC to DC converter like a Powermax or both.

Are you confusing invertor with convertor?

An invertor generator is just a quiet generator.

A convertor converts DC power to AC power.

You would definitely be better off with an invertor generator because they are much more quiet than say a 5000 watt generator like you probably had to use with the halogens
