Looks like your gonna be taking a ride.....lol. Tell the wife that these bows are kinda rare and not made any more and that you need to rescue it. Also if this bow is setup as a hunting bow try to buy it as a bare bow.
I went and looked at a 35-55# aero force that was set up with sights, drop away rest, fancy stabilizer, quiver and hunting arrows and a release. He wanted $150, well got him down to $120 then worked my magic, started the bare how haggle, figure rest worth $10,sights $10,stabilizer $10,release $10,arrows and quiver another $10 so deduct $50 and $70 for bare bow???? He looked puzzled and said that sounds right, and asked are you sure??? He said I don't know but sounds right and adds up, had worked truck so had tools and took sight, rest, quiver off and handed him $70 and asked him if we were good, still looked puzzled but said I guess so..... Shook his hand and took the bare bow for $70 when wanted $120 with a lot of old hunting parts we aren't gonna use
Then tell the wife you'll be just as cool as all us Oneida shooters and let her shoot the recurve,And take the wife along and make a road trip day of it and get lunch somewhere and make it fun
And yes it can be painted
