In the interest of keeping Chance happy with new threads, I have a question for you fellas.

You can build any size boat you want. It can be slick bottom, or have airboat chines. It can have any side height you want. It can be any thickness. It can have any deck setup your heart desires. It can have any kind of lights. It can have a troller or a kicker, or anything else you can dream up. The only catch.....it will have a 50 horse 4 stroke tiller steer.(that COULD be converted to remote) What would you build? I want details.

Something like this if I had to stay with a 50 horse. If I was building a dream boat the first thing on my list would be plenty of horse power.

I would go very simular to this but piss on a console on that size boat. Heck Mary talked me into a console on my current 1872... I enjoy having the power plant in my hand. Lolol.

I already have this in the works except I'm running smaller than a 50. But a 1466, 18 or 20" sides and deck over like above. Either a light rail or hoops I'm not sure yet. It will sport a 80lb troller and dimable 400/250 HPS. It's started as a 1442 that I've had since I was a child. Project as been sat aside but will be coming out after this next desert tour.

Garry I'm not 100% clear but I believe the mowdy boats i was looking at only had a pocket tunnel. No jack plate or anything. I THINK the boat is a little stern heavy which allows the prop to set in the water for take off. The special stern lifting prop raises the rear of the boat as you run allowing it to run super skinny. I need to do a ton of research on the subject. Some rigs do have a vent in the tunnel that is plumbed in. Again I'm no rocket surgeon but my understanding is the vent allows the tunnels to "breath". Reducing friction and allowing the water to completely fill the tunnel without having any air pockets. Also some really cool tunnel designs have a y at the bow that gathers water for the tunnel. The forward y gathers the water, forces it down the hull to the pocket tunnel. ]]]]---------<. Something like that :). To me this looks to be a very efficient design.

Maybe what I need is a little glass flats boat with no motor? :cf: That would be fun for chasing reds with a R&R when we head south. You fellas on the coast keep a lookout for a smokin good deal on something like that. When you headed out Crafty?

1966 with a 3/16 bottom and 28" tall 1/8 sides. Bow mount 112 and sexy stick for leisure, kicker for business. 8 400w HPS/MH digital ballasts set under a slightly elevated platform w/ swing away ladder. CC on a 3'-4' rear deck. 14" walk-arounds. Couple of movable camera poles. We hardly ever run an outboard. Its literally launch and start filling the boat
