I feel your pain, I had shoulder surgery a little over a year and a half ago. To my surprise I was pulling a bow back 3 months after surgery.Broke shoulder two years ago playing hockey. Have not been shooting a bow and got into pellet guns in the house. Sold some bows and bought some lighter pull bows to start shooting again. Got 3 carp last week and feels good to shoot again.
I had shoulder surgery as well...prolly pushing 15yrs ago now. Detached labrum, torn bicep, and impingement syndrome (pinched nerve). Surgeon repaired the bicep, put screws in the labrum, and shaved 2cm off the distal end of my collarbone. (All this damage was from me and my buddies ridiculously intense workouts in the gym)I feel your pain, I had shoulder surgery a little over a year and a half ago. Similar surgery to mine, but I had a 360 degree labrum tear and a rotator cuff tear. Doctor said he has never seen a shoulder that bad before that someone could use on a daily basis.I had shoulder surgery as well...prolly pushing 15yrs ago now. Surgery was a complete success, and my shoulder and arm are better than new. I’ll get a dull ache under my delt if I go too heavy on the bicep curls, but that’s rare.
I know I’m the exception to the rule, but I was able to draw back a bow around 6wks post op, and I started shooting a little bit at 8wks. It largely depends on what they do while in there. My surgery was on my left shoulder, and I’m right handed, so it wasn’t a lot of stress on it. Had it been my right shoulder, I wouldn’t have touched my bow for at least 8-12wks.
