This deer huntin season ive been asked to hunt on my friends college professors property. He has 400 acres and he uses quite a bit of it for crops that he grows for personal use (hes a vegetarian lol) he is tired of the deer eatin his crops and he says there are a ton of them so im pretty excited about this season. he donates any extra meet so he isnt against killin animals or one of those **** nuts he is just a health nut. Im wondering which gun would be better i will be on the edge of a field facing the field but i occasionally go to other properties that are all woods so i wont be shootin much into a very wooded area. I have been look at .270 .270 short mag and 30-06 which do yall like better and reasons why and also any pros and cons. I am open to suggestions on other caliber rifles also. I have been huntin for a few years now and have shot 12 gauge slug shotguns and a 30-06 i have just used my current huntin buddies gun and never have purchased my own. i am goin to my buddys place to shoot a couple of his to see if any of those feel better he has a 270 short mag, 35mm and a 7mm. I dont have a ton of money so i am lookin for something more um "economical" lol and if i get a used rifle what brand and caliber has a better track record of overall better performance.
