Just wondering who uses them for fishing and why...

Most people just use slings on hunting bows but it does add some comfort knowing your bow just ain't going to slip out your hand anymore plus if you shoot a heavy bow are a light one we know are hands get tired quick an. An helps take the weight off just you hands so you can relax but another reason it gives you another way to pimp your bow out in another way.

this was the info I was looking for... I started out with one but I always hated it since most of the time I had to set the bow down to bring in fish with the bottle, but I took a spill last year and about lost my $500.00 bow with a 50 lb carp attached...lol... I managed to keep the bow in my hand... but we have been fishing deep water as of late and I would hate to loose one of my bows... Most of my bowfishing bows are very lite but I picked up a few heavy older Oneidas and figure why not dress up the wall queens with some color and help relieve some of the weight when fishing...

gonna start too , dropped mine in 20+ foot of water last year if the string wouldnt of got hung up on the troller would of lost it just used the string to pull it off the bottom
