What is so special about the lever bows? I haven't shoot one since I traded my strike eagle for one of the first Matthews to hit Oklahoma back in the early 90s. I never bow fished it just hunted. I currently use a browning discovery and haven't felt like I needed more power and it sure is light after a long night. Just curious. Thanks in advance for any insight.

Talon was marketed as a hunting bow whereas the osprey is a fishing bow, as far as it goes they're pretty much the same. Some of the early talons had a machined riser instead of the cast that all the ospreys are.

Most talons were a cast riser, just the first few were machined, also I think they made a super short talon but I'm not sure on that

Yep, same riser until the 2017 model osprey they added a hair more material to the grip area of the riser making it a hair wider, same cams and same limbs until they started using esc (I think all talons had wood)

I could be mistaken, but I think you're referring to all of the Hawks having wooden outers.

Well no doubt!! I just cant justify spending that kind of coin on an osprey when I only bowfish a couple months a year. Someday I'll own one.. but itll be after student loans are gone lol

bass pro shops 6 pay man. they ship it to you and you make smaller payments for 6 months. thats how i got my phoenix.

I sold talon to get AE, that my new fav!
Guess I been lucky to get the first year osprey and talon.
I sold both of those over time, still have one osprey for back up to AE!![Image]()
