so im thinking about buying a couple cheap work lights to try out. i found the ones im getting there 350 watts. my question is can i cut the plug off and rewire them to use on batteries? ill probably only be getting two or three. and have four batteries so thats not a problem. do you think it can be done and still give me a decent amount of time on the water? i would just get a geny but im not allowed to run one at the lake. thanks.

i know we used the small 55 watt halogen fog lights from walmart they didnt give to much water coverage with only 4 but we were able to see the fish just put them on some kind of raised light bar cause they take atleast a foot and half to spread out or its more like a spot light. at the time we were runnin them on a pretty chitty car battery and we would get like 2 good hours and another dim lighted hour but on a good battery and if you can find some higher wattage fog lights

i can shoot with just for leds? from the amount you had on your boat jeff i just assumed i needed alot of em. could you pm me a link to where you get em from? thanks for the info guys.

if you can't run a genny, then you could always look at the old fuel powered lamps that mount on a rail. I have shot off a boat with em and its a descent amount of light all things considered. I am talking about the actual old style lamps not lanterns that you buy at wal-mart. I think you can even buy them from some bowfishing suppliers under the frog gigging section.

Yeah definitely. The sides would be dark but you could easily shoot fish. I didnt have very many on the front of my boat
