Get u a 27+ HP go devil....if it's short runs and ur not worried about going fast...if u want to make longer runs with 3 people get a 35+ HP go devil...if u want to go really fast get the HD
it really depends on how much you want to spend, but mud buddy does make a hd lite (I think thats what its called) the 27 hp pushes my brothers boat 25-27 gps with me an him but its a 1560 you know how big my arse is
Call me tomorrow I can get ya a good deal on what u want ,,, and that pic is not a hd7000 the hd7000 has twin carbs in the front and price on it is around 9,500.. No did respect Brady lol
No not twice as fast just more torque I run around 38 to 40 loaded mown or with just me in it . Seems like the more time I put on the motors or the more I get em broke in the faster it goes, I just now got 4 hrs on them, but they have massive torqe,
I wouldn't go less than 35hp... if you get a big block briggs than you can add some parts and start adding more H.P... a MB7000 is just a 35 briggs with Cam - Piston - Heads - twin Pipes - and twin Carbs... if you can find a blown motor with a good outdrive and new crate motor is only 2500.00 they are pretty much bolt on and go.. IMHO I would stay away from MudBuddy if you can.... I have ran one for 7 years now... there CS is piss poor IMHO... I plan on getting a Gator Tail next year... also if you do get one try to find a outdrive with a Merc trim... the Thomson and Bear trim suck... I have went thru 4 of them... Just picked up a Hunter mount since I Just had to pay shipping vs buying yet another new trim... it going to suck to have to trim the motor by hand but its better than pissing money into this outdrive anymore than I can...
It's a short(15") transom. My buddy had a 32 hp Prodrive that used an electric winch for trim.It worked ok but I'm sure there's much better technology now.The reverse sucked tho!
One of my employees just bought a new 35 Gatortail and it's really smooth.I think his has the Mercury trim. Not sure because he has a console.
I'm hoping to pick up a decent used late model for $2000-$4000.
Sell the Xpress, call Uncle J and have him build you an 1848 hull. Slap a 35 Gator Tail on there. You will have a new favorite boat to ride in then! Should be a good steady 28-30 mph boat too.
Jason builds a good boat fo sho......get a 60 wide if u want to run upper 20s loaded
