lol will those MH bulbs work in my HPS fixtures?

Yeah that's what the numbers say but somebody is full of chit because there aint now way in he// that 6 150w hps's can outshine 10 500w halogens. It just aint gonna happen but according to the numbers both would be putting out about the same amount of lumens.
I think your dead wrong on this one just like how a discovery set at 23lbs doesn't bounce arrows off fish...lol..

Nope. The only ballasts both will work on are digital ballasts.I'm running digital and can go either way.
I'm not running digital!! I'm running magnetic ballast and mine run either one all night long. By the way this is an awesome thread for anybody wanting visual comparison. This could solve alot of questions people have

That just shows how much you know because the last four or so tournaments we placed good in I was shooting 25 pounds and less.I was shooting about 18 pounds when we shot the most and I was shooting 20 during the last shoot.Joe Nichols can back me up on that because he's the one that checked my draw weight that time.We killed 280 fish during one and the least I think was 154.Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Yeah I dont know a lot about the higher watt bulbs and what all bulbs and ballasts will interchange with them. But I think with the 150's the govt phased out the 150w bulbs that would work with some of the same ballasts as the metal halides. That's just what I heard OBG and them saying anyhow.

Halos putting HPS to shame hahahahahahahahahaha....I started out with all ten as 500's but had to knock 7 down to 300's so my genny could handle my iota as well. You can HARDLY tell the difference from a 5oo to a 300............My 7 new hps are just as good or BETTER as either previous setup with alot less draw on the genny.

I think you and Salty Dawg both need to lay off of the crack pipe, that's what I think.Oh and that last shoot we shot off of 100w metal halides and whipped the chit out of some airboats that were running 400w high pressure sodiums and we was fishing the same holes. Not sure if they just couldn't see them or if they just couldn't hit them.Like Forrest Gump says, "Maybe it's both?Maybe both are happening at the same time?"

what if you mixed them up say 150 hps then a halo then a hps etc. or just a waste of time pick one and stick to it ? I run six 500w halos now but was thinking of using a 150 hps then a 500w halo then another 150 hps per side our water usually runs murky to stained but do find clear water once in a blue moon

I've seen halos and hps's mixed before and seen them lit up on the water but I haven't ever shot over them.I have shot over metal halides mixed with halos. My opinion on that is the halos don't do much good.Once the halides fire up they overpower the halogens and turn the yellowish halo around the boat into white and cast light farther out even.I had no clue that they would do that until I seen it with my own eyes.

Are you a legend in your own mind or just a self proclaimed expert on lights??? As far as incinuating 100W metal halides do a better job than 400W HPS lights you are obviously a dumbass.
You misspelled insinuating lol.If that comes as a shock to your system then I got one even better for ya'.I just read on facebook while ago that a guy on there (no names got to protect the innocent haha) is selling his 400's because he claims the 100w led's do a better job for him than those did.No I aint no expert but it don't take a freaking rocket scientist to figure it out.If hps's were all that then why don't they use them to light up ball fields and chit like that instead of using metal halides?Well I'm sure there's a pretty good reason for it and I would say that reason is because people would rather be able to see what the he// is going on around them.:poke:

Probably one of the better threads I've seen with photos showing the difference between the three = Halo vs HPS vs MH. Thanks for posting the pictures.
Nothing like a side by side comparison. It all boils down to what you like!

if you look at the picture then yes, the halos to look brighter, but look at the water on the side of the boat with halos, its yellow on one side and blue on the other.

wow this is turning into spinner vs retriever. LOL!!! Mine bigger than yours!!. Its all in what affordable for you, and your prefrence! everbody just get some 1,000w and the argument will be done!

LOL not arguing, Like I said before they all do the trick just in personal preference! f it lets find some 5k watt ones!

Man you took the bait like a Champ...lol... I just had to toss in the low poundage comment just for grins... lol... I was going to do a pic standing my deck with a 500w Halo vs a 150w HPS but the wife got a little pissy when I was walking out of the house in my underware last night...

Notice in the 1st pick how they they compare on how much they cast out on the wall... then note in the 2nd pic how much that Halo is tilted up when teh HPS is sitting flat to the ground and most of its light it hitting the floor... Nice set up there Bud...lol... I used those same Halo's for 5 years and shoot thousands of fish over them but we had to wait tell the run off from the MT was done and the water cleared up... not any more with the HPS for some reason the fish seem to glow in stained water over HPS and we are 500 + fish this season from last year using Halo's...

yeah I think it's cool to see all the fixtures together, no matter what ones ya like!
